Teacher Uses Belt to Break Up Fighting Students

Well this video seems to be taking the web by storm this weekend.  In the video, which the location of the school has yet to be confirmed, you clearly see a fight between students that is quickly escalating out of control.  A group of students are fighting and chairs are being throwing in what looks to be an elementary school in my opinion.  Then a male teacher enters with a belt and begins using it on the kids.  I must admit, it was a great deterrent because all of the children ceased the shenanigans.  Now the questions is, did this teacher go too far?  I’ll keep digging for more info while you chime in.

I think a lot might stem on where he was hitting these kids. Can’t wait to read a follow up on what you find out.

Prince George’s County, Maryland, the substitute teacher was fired. [http://news.aazah.com/content/substitute-teacher-fired-after-using-belt-break-fight#.VVuUMUa8iK8].

Thank you so much for the link. I can’t wait to dig into this a little further. I’ve been meaning to write a piece about substitute teachers. Thanks again. 🙂

Does it appear to be very little information out there about this incident beyond the initial report? On FB, KMOV has a poll going, the comments are rather fascinating,

It seems at this time that school is not releasing the name of the teacher and it doesn’t appear that any charges have been brought against the teacher at this time. Of course this could all be pending investigation. I was going to give it another 24 hours to see if anything broke locally. I’ll check out the KMOV page too. You are a great help.
